Here's the synopsis of the book.

Do you carry a secret and fear to let it out?

A single mother, a special son, a mentoring boss, a supportive neighbour, all carry a secret, a truth. If it comes out, it could end relationships, break families, or cause shame. Each one of them has their own beautiful life filled with lovely children, best friends, a respectable position in society, and so their reasons for concealing the truth. On the outside, they all seem to have a normal life; a life filled with friendships, fun and frolic, hard and monotonous work, love and relationships, and grief and recovery.

Suri, a young man, is holding on to the horrific memories of an incident that occurred many years ago and is terrified to speak up. Savithri, a single mom, is carrying a secret for many years fearing the unknown repercussions if she spills it. Patel, the boss, has an unsuspecting habit and doesn’t have a clue of the consequences if it is out in the open. Narayanan, a supportive neighbour, is dumbstruck after knowing the reality of certain occurrences and decides to disconnect with the people concerned, instead of speaking with them.

The main characters in the story are from Coimbatore, a city in Tamil Nadu, which is popularly known as the Manchester of South India. The narrative revolves around the life of each person and their dark secrets and eventually how the unexpected spectrum of events result in the unveiling of the hidden truth.

Do families break up? Do relationships end? Do people lose their reputations? You’ll have to read the book to know more.

  4. I love reading, but most books I read in a slow pace, savoring the words, taking my time to comprehend and make myself bind the words. This books, however, not only is easy to read, its also incredibly addictive.
This book makes you understand what values must change for you to live a happy life.
Everyone is going to die, you don't know when. The truth may be saddening at first, but it also gives you permission to make amends with past difficulties and re-establishe meaningful relationships with important figures in your life.
Would recommend this book for all my friends and family. I would really like to thank the author for writing such interesting book and describing each characters and situation in very interesting way.
    Do read this book.

  5. ‘The Truth In its essence‘ is a very gripping tale by a first time author. The book kept me hooked till the end. You have written a simple and soulful narrative on how to nurture relationships and how to overcome a personal tragedy and move ahead in life. Family is a precious commodity which we take for granted. It is not until it is lost for whatever reasons, that we appreciate how fragile the threads of life are. Well done Veena Sheker. Looking forward to your next book!

  7. The truth in its essence is a family story narrated in wonderful way in simple language which can be understood by the young and old.
The author has described each and every character, incident and happenings in such way that the reader picturises the same and becomes a part of it. I just could not let go of the book once i started reading it.
Through the lead character Savithri, Ms.Veenashekar coveys the message as to we have to overcome our grief and difficulties and move on in life.
Having been brought up in Tamilnadu myself this book took me down the memory lane of my childhood. It was v nostaligic.
    A very good read.
Looking forward for your next book.

  9. The book of a debut writter "doesn't seem like"!! The charecterisation, the flow of the story, the sequence of events happening there on! The whole narration is just played like a movie as you read through. The touch of author being an optometeist is also felt in the narration which is tribute to her passion and profession!! Most important thing is the joy of revelation of truth inspite of possibility of negative effects gives the reader the courage to be
    sathya harishchandra's always!!
